The redesigned Specialist maintains its low profile and now provides security without the need for hook and loop. The steel buckle holds the belt securely in place and the provided elastic keeper keeps the tail out of the way. This design allows for the most usable space for gear.
The tail end of the new Specialist threads easily through one side of the low-profile steel buckle.
The elastic keeper is placed on the belt near the buckle, this way the keeper does not need to be removed from the belt when taking the belt on and off.
Placing the keeper closer to the buckle increases security, for the highest level of security place the keeper next to the buckle.
The Specialist can also be worn with the tail threaded behind the buckle if desired. Using the keeper with the belt secured in this manner will be more a bit more cumbersome but those that wish to have the tail arranged in this manner for enhanced security purposes will be willing to take the extra moment to do so.
For those that have specific requirements for tail length reference the below measurements for overall length of the belt:
30 - 37.5”
32 - 39.5”
34 - 41.5”
36 - 43.5”
38 - 45.5”
40 - 48”
42 - 50”
44 - 53”
46 - 55”
48 - 57”
Important Note: The Specialist is designed to have a very tight fit between the belt body and the tail, this is critical to its proper function. The Specialist also features a stiffened belt tip, this tip is very rigid and as such may be difficult to get through the buckle as they are very close in dimension. This is not a design flaw or issue. It will become easier with use; the proper protocol is to force it through. Once the tip of the belt is through the unstiffened belt body will compress and slide more easily through the buckle. The cropped tip can be used to change the angle of the belt tail as it goes through the buckle to get it started. You can also speed up the process of break-in by putting the tail through the buckle multiple times before initial use.
Because of the design of the Specialist and the webbing it is made from the belt may develop some fuzz near throughout the adjustment range it is normal and cosmetic. It can be removed by carefully and quickly running a soft flame over the fuzz. Take care not to melt the belt body.
